Anime Music Videos

Anime Music Videos are just what it sounds like they are Music Videos as made by the fans utalizing anime and/or video game footage. The Anime Music Video Contest is a common con tradition but RealmsCon like many others has time allocated so those not wishing to submit their video into a contest setting can still have their work featured/premiered at our convention. Congoers are encouraged to submit enteries into both categories, please check the rules for more information. AMVcontestRules

Cosplay Contest
Dress as your favorite character in our Costume Contest. You may perform a skit or enter as a walk-on. This event can be a solo project or include up to five members.

Rules:
1. First primary rule = Your costume, your walk-on, your skit, your ANYTHING related to cosplay must obey the PG rule. This means NOTHING sexual in nature, NOTHING obscene in nature. No cursing, no stripping, no mimicking of sexual acts, NOTHING of that sort will be tolerated. If your costume itself is obscene, security will tell you to go to your room and change. You will not be allowed to enter these costumes in the cosplay competition.

If your skit or walk-on performance is obscene, we will kill the audio and pull you off stage immediately. I mean this. I'm not nice like other cosplay directors. I will kick you off of my stage if you break my rules. Period. Oh yeah, this rule applies to ANY audio, be it spoken on stage or recorded on a CD. Cursing and sexually explicit lines or lyrics will NOT be tolerated.

2. No stunts. I go by the "One Foot" rule, as one foot must remain on stage at all times. You may be the most skilled gymnast in the world, I don't care. That's the rule. For stage fighting, I'm going to implement the "3/4's Rule" as in you must move at a slower speed. This is for your safety, I assure you.

3. The cosplay staff is not yo momma. We will not clean up after you. Any props you bring on stage leave with you. Along this same line, ANY particle or chemical substances you may want to use for a skit are NOT ALLOWED! No powder, no smoke, no strobe lights, no water, NOTHING of the sort will be allowed for use in your skit. We keep it clean, quite literally.

4. If your costume is a commisoned piece, the original creator MUST BE PRESENT to sign up the costume. There is no exception to this rule for single entries, and we will be checking credentials. Skit entires MUST INFORM THE JUDGES if one of your members is wearing a COMMISIONED COSTUME. And we will ask everyone that question, be prepared to answer us truthfully. Also, if your costume is just a series of store bought pieces put together, it is not eligible for single entry, however, if you heavily modified bought pieces, this is allowed . If said "costume" is part of a group, the costume is automatically exempt from craftsmanship judging (the rest of the skit members will NOT be penalized in anyway). If you still want to enter on stage in your commissioned costume and the person who made it is not there, you MUST mark on your form to exempt yourself from judging. More exceptions: If a small piece or accesory of your costume, such as jewelry, armaments, and foot gear is commisioned, it will not disqualify your entry.

In short, you can enter into a skit with a commissioned costume without the original commissioner being present. You will NOT be judged on craftsmanship and the rest of the group will NOT be penalized. If you have a mostly store-bought pieces costume, you can enter in a skit. You will NOT be judged on craftsmanship. The rest of the group will NOT be penalized.

5. is the Three Strikes Rule. If you violate any rule three times, you are blacklisted from ever participating in a cosplay contest coordinated by The Gear Project. AND, if the offense is severe, we will bypass the second two strikes, you will be blacklisted anyways. Also, ANY entry that breaks ANY of our rules, even minor offenses, may be stricken from judging. I say MAY, because while we will count the strike, but if the skit and/or costumes are stupendous in spite of a minor rule infraction (say, accidentally breaking the "one foot" rule), they will be considered, but not for top honors. This is simply done in the interest of fairness.

Time Rule: Walk ons are one minute. Skits are three minutes. PERIOD. Walk-ons should feel free to use their minute to it's fullest, and we encourage them to do so, especially for the sake of judging the costume. We do like to see your work, folks, so don't rush on and rush off stage.

Skits MUST NOT RUN LONGER THAN 3:00 MINUTES. At 3:15 , you are disqualified completely (your potential placing decreases considerably the longer between 3:00 and 3:15 ). Also, at 3:20 , if the skit STILL isn't off our stage, we will remove you from it. Lights off, music off, YOU off. There will be NO exceptions to these rules

Craftsmanship Modifier: Due to the stress on crafstmanship for this competition, we ask that all entrants provide the judges with reference material (front AND back if possible). If said costume is an original costume, we ask for design sketches. This is to ensure fair judging. It is not REQUIRED but still strongly suggested.

Skits are going to be pre-screened. You must present a copy of your script (and/or write-up of your act) upon sign-up. We will have a panel for skit FAQ Saturday before the actual rehersal time (not yet scheduled).

Scripts must NOT be vauge. We want all dialouge, cues, stage directions, and any excrutiating detail you can muster. We ask this so that we can limit the number of questions we need to ask before your skit can go through final approval. That being said, signing-up DOES NOT guarantee you a place on stage.

NO KAREOKE/SINGING SKITS. We will have kareoke set up sometime during the weekend. If your skit is choreographed to music, however, we will need a sheet with your blocking on it.

2] Contact with the net by a player is not a fault, unless it is made during the action of
playing the ball, or it interferes with the play. Incidental contact of the hair is never a fault. Some actions of playing the ball may include actions in which the players do not actually touch the ball.

3] When the ball is driven into the net and causes it to touch an opponent, no fault iscommitted.

4] A player touches the net or the antenna during his/her action of playing the ball or interferes
with the
play

5] At the end of the match, he/she checks the scoresheet and signs it.

7] Once the player has hit the ball, he/she may touch the post, rope or any other object outside the total length of the net provided that this action does not interfere with play.

Beach Volleyball is a sport played by two teams of two players each on a sand court divided by a net

The object of the game is to send the ball over the net in order to ground it on the opponent’s court, and to prevent the same effort by the opponent. The team has three hits for returning the ball (including the block touch).

The ball is put in play with a service: hit by the server over the net to the opponents. The rally continues until the ball is grounded on the playing court, goes out or a team fails to return it properly.

In Beach Volleyball, the team winning a rally scores a point (Rally Point System). When the receiving team wins a rally, it gains a point and the right to serve. The serving player must be
alternated every time this occurs.
